Agate is the name given to a type of quartz stone located all over the world, Agate has been popular for centuries, used as decoration as far back as Eygpt where polished agates were prized as semi precious stones used in decoration and jewellery.
Agates are incredibly beautiful and very varied in both colour and the variety of patterns that appear in the stone. The patterns in Agate stones are formed by layers and layers of quartz that show as bands and spots of colour within the stone, which when polished show up as incredible patterns.
